3-0 defeat at the table and two games to be played behind closed doors. This is the sanction imposed on Brescia by the Serie B sports judge in relation to the incidents that occurred inside and outside the 'Rigamonti' stadium in the return match of the playouts with Cosenza, on June 1, a game suspended in the final. The Lombard club was punished for strict liability, also based on the report of the collaborators of the Federal Prosecutor's Office concerning the clashes between Brescia fans and law enforcement outside the plant, which among other things forced the match officials and the members of the two companies to stay in the stadium until late at night.
According to the referee's report, at the 52nd minute of the second half - immediately after Cosenza's equalizing goal that condemned Brescia to Serie V - the match was suspended for the launch of at least ten smoke bombs and the invasion by some Brescia supporters, which forced match officials and players to return to the locker room. After about 20/25 minutes, the referee returned to the field and, learning from the head of public order that there were no security conditions to resume, he decided to definitively suspend the race, on the result of 1-1.
The judge also disqualified Fran Karacic of Brescia and Michele Rigione of Cosenza for three rounds, both expelled because they were involved in a dispute in the tunnel of the locker rooms. A round of disqualification was instead imposed on Labojko of Brescia and Voca of Cosenza, who were warned.
