Jenna Ortega is taking matters into her own hands and plans to make her voice heard a lot more ahead of filming the second season of "Wednesday" — not just in front of the camera but also behind it. Earlier this year, it was reported that the young star used to argue with the screenwriters and change lines of text that she did not like and did not match, in her opinion, the character she played in the hit Netflix series. Now, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ortega, 20, revealed that this was just the beginning.

"When I entered Wednesday, I made it clear that everything I had to say was important and meaningful, and I made sure they listened to me. I've experienced situations on TV where I felt that my voice wasn't heard and that I was actually meant to be a puppet. They would tell me things on set like, 'You won't understand because you're not a screenwriter,' or 'Just shut up and do your job.' I've heard things like this since I was 12 years old," the actress explained, adding: "But as the series progressed, we got to know each other and work collaboratively.

"This time I feel fortunate to join as a producer, to be in the writers' room at the very beginning of working on the season, to talk about the scripts and make comments. I think the best results come when you hear a few more voices and ideas," Ortega said, revealing that she would now contribute and oversee the creative and writing process for Wednesday before filming began — something that didn't happen in the first season.

But what really closed with the second season of the series? When will we finally get to watch it? Well, the bad news is that due to the Hollywood writers' strike, the end of which is not yet in sight, work on quite a few productions has been put on hold for further notice. Therefore, according to the most optimistic estimates, the next season is expected to arrive on Netflix no earlier than mid-to-late 2024 at best, and we would not be surprised if it launches only in 2025.
