"
Don Milani was an extraordinary figure, he sowed much more than you can imagine." And he spoke a lot of a school for everyone because "a school that offers only to those who have economic conditions is not a school". This was said by President Sergio Mattarella speaking in Paris to the students of the Italian State Institute Leonardo da Vinci.
"You students - from the youngest at the beginning of their school career, to those who are concluding a cycle of studies - represent an important reality not only for Italy and France, but also for Europe. Because Europe is not only the environment in which our countries exist, but it is, above all, an ideal place, made up of people, experiences, affinities, values, dreams. All elements that - even if you do not see them - are inside your backpacks, and grow with you every day. It is here, more than in other places, that Europe is built." This was said by President Sergio Mattarella speaking in Paris.
Addressing the students of the Italian State Institute Leonardo da Vinci, the president said he knew "that this Institute boasts important alumni and that from here, in its almost centennial history, generations of prepared, reliable, conscientious students have come out who have testified to the validity of the training course. The cultural background is enriched and, thanks to the comparison between different experiences, the ability to face the future with determination and confidence. Ultimately, you are being trained to be citizens of an open society."
"Culture is the best business card of a country. It is by definition a heritage to be preserved and developed with care and application. Also for this reason, after greeting you, I will go to the Louvre to inaugurate together with President Macron a splendid exhibition, Naples in Paris, designed precisely to highlight the many connections between Italy and France". This was said by President Sergio Mattarella speaking in Paris to a group of Italian students.
