Nowadays, there are many different IQ tests. Scientists are still arguing about what intelligence actually is and how to measure it professionally. On the other hand, some everyday things seem to be related to high intelligence – do you recognize some of them in yourself?
1. They don't think they're smart
Ever since Socrates uttered his famous "I know that I know nothing", it has been considered a sign of intelligence not to overestimate one's own competence. And the old wisdom that stupid people in particular think they are particularly smart is actually scientifically substantiated – with the Dunning-Kruger effect. The two social psychologists David Dunning and Justin Kruger have been able to prove in numerous studies that ignorance leads to more self-confidence in many situations – for example, when comprehending texts and in traffic. So, intellectual modesty can be a sign of intelligence. But do yourself a big favor: Don't spend too much time on Twitter with this knowledge.
2. You are a night owl
Do you only really get going in the evening and prefer to work when others are asleep? Congratulations! According to a scientific study, you probably have an above-average IQ. Santoshi Kanazawa of the London School of Economics has found that people with low IQs often go to bed earlier during the week than people with high IQs.
3. They love black humor
Do you burst out where others indignantly slap their hands in front of their faces? Then it could be that they are more intelligent than others. At least that's what a study by the University of Vienna suggests. Here it turned out that people with a penchant for black humor often possessed high verbal and non-verbal intelligence.
4. They swear a lot and violently
If you curse a lot, you usually feel cool and edgy – at least up to a certain age. On the other hand, you can get in the way with foul language – especially from a certain age. For all those who like to vent verbally, there is now damn good news: As sputnik.de reported, researchers at Marist College in Poughkeepsie in New York State were able to prove that people with greater language skills also used significantly more swear words.
5. They are hopelessly chaotic

A study by the University of Minnesota suggests a link between increased intelligence and disorder. So you can now claim scientifically substantiated that genius rules chaos.
