(ANSA) - NEW YORK, JUNE 09 - The Pentagon is expected to announce in the next few hours a new package of safe aid of 2 billion dollars for Ukraine. This was reported by the Bloomberg agency, citing some sources.
This funding allocated through the Initiative ofAssistance to the Security of Ukraine (USAI) will facilitate - according to Politico - the acquisition of missile launchers and Hawk missiles, as well as two advanced Patriot air defense missile systems. One component of the package is the Patriot AdvancedCapability Missile-3 (Pac-3) manufactured by Lockheed Martin.
The other is the Guidance Enhanced Missile (Gem-T) manufactured by Raytheon Technologies, which boasts improved capabilities in countering tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and enemy aircraft, complementing the Pac-3 missile system.
