"He throws me in the taxi, 'What do you say we'll get married?'" Maya Wertheimer shared with her 535,<> Instagram followers on Saturday at the surprise wedding arranged for her by Assaf Zamir, just before they return to live in Israel after a year and a half in New York.
"Didn't I understand here in a taxi?! That way and without any preparation?!?!!," Wertheimer described her moments of shock and then took a step back to explain to her confused followers why she and Zamir hadn't been officially recognized as married until now.

"Six years ago, Assaf and I got married in a Reform ceremony. We never registered - even though we are common-law couples I am still 'single' on my ID. "We have the opportunity to register in a town like your Carrie and Big." I was upset what he was offering me like that now. This is Asaf, the most romantic man in the world. No shoe? The wardrobe??? I didn't know what he was planning. "Come now I've already made an appointment for us." Wait a minute. What didn't I understand? We do not order McDonald's. 'Just sign up.' Ok. I took a breath and said, 'Come on.' It was on the fifth," she added.
"The pictures you see are from Friday from the amazing wedding that Assaf organized as a complete surprise (yes, yes, I know we're exaggerating). I'll tell you about everything later," Wertheimer assured that the collection of photos from the ceremony she included in the post is just the prelude to what's to come.
"Until then, thank you to my man who is such a mensch that Mr Big should take an example from him," Wertheimer complimented Zamir and concluded with a series of thanks to the person who shared the secret of affairs, revealing that she designed and brought the wedding dress to Assaf personally and without measurements by the super-designer Vera Wong. "I couldn't ask for more. Congratulations to us Assaf Zamir," she concluded the post.

This is not the first time Zamir has surprised Wertheimer with a "surprise wedding." The two held their first wedding party in 2017 at the Palm Beach in Eilat, in an entire weekend of festivities in a lavish event full of celebrities. Four years later in 2021, Zamir decided to surprise Wertheimer with a vow renewal, and the two celebrated again in Eilat surrounded by friends and lovers.
"My man (God, what a man Hamsa) who set himself the goal of fulfilling every dream for me, concocted behind my back for months the fulfillment of a dream of reliving the wedding with my close friends and a crazy production of the celebration of my dreams in Eilat - where we got married," Wertheimer excitedly shared to her Instagram followers at the time, adding: "As you understand, I couldn't stop crying until dawn. And even now I'm just beginning to digest the unbelievable weekend from the Disney movies that the knight of my life arranged for me. Thank you to my one and only for making me happy every day anew. I won."
