A Reddit user created the thread on the "FragReddit" subreddit. His question: "What keeps you wondering at the supermarket checkout?" The top comment in the thread refers to the cashiers, some of whom have to endure a lot in their shifts. "Cashiers – nerves of steel," the Reddit user wrote. This led to a lively discussion in which other users described their experiences: "A cashier once just got up, left, and left behind a queue of puzzled customers."
The post creator himself also revealed what bothers him most about the supermarket checkout: "Why people keep putting bottles on the treadmill in such a way that they roll back and forth when the belt starts or stops." He immediately had a suitable answer ready: "Well, physics is difficult." Under his comment, other Reddit users also made fun of this type of supermarket customer: "Many people's physical understanding is somewhere between 'things fall down' and 'electricity tastes ouch'."

If it takes a little longer at a supermarket checkout, it is usually because there are too few checkouts open or there are problems with payment. These don't have to be technical problems: "Some are surprised that, out of the blue, they suddenly have to pay at the checkout." Also getting on the nerves of Reddit users are customers who "leave medium-sized purchases behind, then dig out their money and when everything is ready, put everything in their pockets first."

It is also annoying for customers how expensive the purchases have become: "For me, the purchase always costs 15 euros. I can go to the store for a pack of flour and I'm sure I'll pay 15 euros." In the wake of the Russian war of aggression, many prices in supermarkets and discounters rose sharply. In the meantime, a kilogram of paprika cost over six euros. Some problems take place in the supermarket even before the checkout: "Some are cheeky and brazen enough to put frozen goods somewhere if they don't want to buy them after all."
