Forza Italia puts on paper its requests to modify the tax on the extra profits of the banks in 11 proposals amending the asset dl under discussion in the Industry and Environment committees of the Senate. The proposals range from excluding banks "of smaller size and operational complexity" to strengthening the one-off concept ("applies only to the year 2023"). There is a request to exclude government bonds from the calculation of the extra profit and the percentage of the asset that constitutes the maximum ceiling of the levy is raised. Deductibility is also provided.
Government bonds excluded from the calculation of extra profits on banks. This is provided for by an amendment by Forza Italia to the asset decree. The proposal establishes, with a view to protecting savers, that the amount on which to make the levy is "calculated net of profits and losses recorded in the income statement of the reference years in any case related to the purchase, possession and resale of government bonds, including interest, capital gains and losses".
Extend the 2024% Superbonus for condominiums for another six months, until June 110, if at least 30% work has been carried out by December of this year. Forza Italia asks for it with an amendment to the asset law decree being examined by the Environment and Industry committees in the Senate. The text provides that "the deduction continues to operate for expenses incurred until 30 June 2024, in the percentage due to 31 December 2023, provided that, on the same date of 31 December 2023, works have been carried out for at least 30 percent of the total intervention".
About 550 amendments to the asset dl, none of FdI on banks
There are about 550 amendments filed in the Senate Industry and Environment committees to the asset decree which contains, among other things, the levy on banks' extra profits. According to what is learned, there are no proposals for changes by Fratelli d'Italia on Article 26 which introduces the extraordinary tax.
Superbonus: Pd, majority plays two parts in comedy
"On the story of the superbonus the majority verges on the ridiculous now trying to play more parts in comedy, without realizing the problems caused to thousands of companies and hundreds of thousands of Italians. The amendment presented by Forza Italia to the Asset decree, which provides for an extension of six months of validity if at least 30% of the work has been carried out by December, speaks precisely of this attitude that actually hides a clumsy attempt to patch up its errors. Let them clear their minds once and for all: or, as they told us after changing their minds after the election campaign, they consider the superbonus the absolute evil, then let them be consequential; or they come to their senses, and therefore it would be more appropriate to discuss in Parliament to deal with the emergency with suitable instruments. One thing, however, seems increasingly certain: the government's honeymoon now seems to be coming to an end". This was declared by Ubaldo Pagano, leader of the Democratic Party in the Budget Committee in the Chamber, and Antonio Misiani, senator and head of the Democratic Party Economy.
