Why does the meat always look so appetizing in the supermarket? One customer thought about this and shared a discovery in a video.
Stuttgart - Anyone who has ever tried to photograph their food knows the problem. Because the meal rarely looks as delicious as in the personal imagination. Accordingly, it is hardly surprising, for example, that supermarket operators try to make food appear in a better light.
Literally. This is shown by a customer in a video he posted on the social media platform TikTok. Under the title "Hops taken from the supermarket", he presents a meat counter in the twelve-second clip, which, according to him, looks "delicious and delicious" as always. But there is a reason for this, according to the TikToker.

How to better illuminate meat in the supermarket
Namely, the lighting of the goods. From a distance, the light looks green. If you get closer, however, it becomes reddish. According to the TikToker, the lighting is intended to make the appearance of the goods look more appetizing.
He seems to be right. However, in all likelihood, the light is not red, otherwise the white fat would also look red. Rather, this is likely to be a filter that reduces the shade of green and thus makes the meat continue to look natural - or fresh and juicy as from the advertisement. That would at least be the ideal case and, by the way, is not only popular with meat, but also in a similar way with baked goods.
"Everything in retail has a reason"
By the way, the people who commented under the video are not surprised by the whole thing. This is just "sales psychology", says one, while another writes: "This is the atmosphere that should encourage the customer to buy. And I think that's what you learn in school in economics and law." Still another comments: "Everything in retail has a reason and an ulterior motive. I'm just saying: confectionery in the checkout area."
