How would you react if a big bear trotted relaxed in the middle of your lawn while you were relaxing in the garden?
Hedgehogs, deer, woodpeckers, foxes and bears – the faithful forest dwellers can also be found again and again in German forests. Especially near the Bavarian Alps, more and more bear tracks have been spotted in recent years, as the online site of the environmental protection organizations WWF confirmed. But what happens when the large animals move out of their usual habitat and invade our habitat?
Bear in the garden: An unexpected party guest
A real bear trotting through a garden in complete serenity, where a small garden party is currently being organized? Not a matter of impossibility, as the Instagram account shared @barstoolphilly with the Internet in a video from Poconos, a region in the northeast of the US state of Pennsylvania. There, a bear, possibly from the nearby wooded mountains, made a small detour into a human residential area on its exploration walk.
Apparently completely relaxed, a man accompanies the bear across the garden and towards the garden gate. "Get out of here now," he talks to him as if he were a human unwanted party guest. While the other party guests take cover and record everything on video, the bear runs almost peacefully with the American to the garden gate.

But then he reaches out with a claw and runs it over the man's hip. He retreats only briefly, but remains steadfast and shows him the way out onto the road with his arm. The bear trots calmly out of the garden gate, stops briefly next to the garbage cans on the opposite side of the street until it finally disappears completely. The man then lifts his shirt only briefly, exposing two long scratches on the side.
