"The goal is to merge the first two brackets into a single group with a rate of 23%." This was said by the Deputy Minister of Economy Maurizio Leo when asked about the IRPEF reform to SkyTg24 economy. "We have to see if the resources will be found", Leo pointed out, explaining that with the cut in income tax and the merging of the first two brackets "we will end up on 14 billion".
"By doing surgical work, intervening intelligently" on tax expenditures, I think "at most 800 (million, ed), I think a billion can be reached". "We must safeguard deductions for mortgages, health expenses, education. But a careful review of what are the tax expenditures perhaps of lesser amount and that affect the smaller number of taxpayers, on that can be affected", said Leo, specifying that the money saved "could benefit from the reduction from 4 to three rates" of Irpef.
