'On an equal footing'
The Dark Horse singer said she was "in love" with Russell Brand when she married him in India on October 23, 2010. "In the beginning, when I met him, he wanted us to be on an equal footing," she said at the time. I think a lot of times strong men want their partner to be their equal, but then, when they do, they think, 'I can't handle this.'"

"He didn't like the atmosphere of my tour, because I was the boss. He was really hurtful and very hindering, which was upsetting." After this breakup, endorsed by a text message from Russell Brand on New Year's Eve 2011, Katy Perry would have felt guilty.
