Bratwurst and sauerkraut as small fried balls, although not as common at the Oktoberfest as meatballs, are still irresistibly good.
The Oktoberfest in Munich has just started and if you are not yet in the Oktoberfest mood, you should read on now. For sauerkraut bratwurst balls with dip you need these ingredients:
- Sweet mustard dip:
- 80 g sweet mustard
- 150 g crème fraîche
- 0.25 tsp salt
- 0.25 tsp pepper
- 4 g chives, cut into rolls
- Sauerkraut bratwurst balls:
- 200 g sauerkraut, drained
- 500 g bratwurst, coarse and unscalded
- 1 egg
- 70 g breadcrumbs
- 0.5 tsp pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 800 ml of vegetable oil
- 150 g salted pretzels
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 150 g of flour
