European stock markets closed lower, in the wake of Wall Street. Market attention is focused on central bank decisions, with the Fed, after a pause, likely to raise rates again this year. In the spotlight the nervousness of government bonds, with yields rising sharply.
Closing down for Paris (-1.59%) and Frankfurt (-1.33%). London was down losses (-0.69%), with the Bank of England leaving rates unchanged after better-than-expected inflation.
