You cannot, every day, meet a king in the streets of Paris. But this Wednesday, September 20, it was possible! At least, on the Champs-Élysées (Paris VIIIth arrondissement), and near the Élysée and the British Embassy in Paris, where Charles III went on the first day of his postponed state visit. Our mission of the day was then immediately imposed: to tighten the grip of Elizabeth II's son.

This goal was initially thwarted, on the Champs-Élysées, where Charles III and his wife, Queen Camilla, did not go to meet the crowd. Too bad for Nathalie, a fan of the royal family who came with her sisters to greet the couple, for whom she even planned to make a bow - "easy", says the one who has done fifteen years of classical dance. Others, like Fanny, a thirty-year-old from Ile-de-France, had trained there on site, waiting for the parade and the ceremony at the Arc de Triomphe.
It was in the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, in front of the British embassy where the king resided, that we approached the goal. Arriving on foot, the king lent himself to the game, shaking hands, slipping a "hello" or a "do you go shopping?" to admirers or curious people who came to wait for him. On the verge of reaching it, Charles III unfortunately did not reach out to us... and our crown, a replica of the one that was placed on his head last May, during his coronation.
