- "The financial resources provided for organic farming within the PNRR, the Regional Development Plans and the national funds dedicated to organic are made available to the supply chains, which constitute the most effective model of real integration between production, processing and marketing". This is the appeal launched by Francesco Torriani, Coordinator of the organic sector of Alleanza cooperative Agroalimentari on the European Organic Day which is celebrated on 23 September.
"The programming of the agricultural policy 2023/2027 - argues Torriani - has two fundamental objectives: increasing the competitiveness of companies through greater market orientation and improving the position of farmers in the value chain. Objectives that can only be pursued through political choices that tend with determination to build "efficient" supply chains capable of bringing quality organic products to the market at competitive costs".
Alleanza cooperative agroalimentari has over 5,000 agri-food cooperatives, 800,000 producer members, 93,000 employees, for a turnover of 34.5 billion euros, equal to 25% of the value of Italian agri-food production.
