The new iPhone 15 is now available in stores. In order to take action against resellers, Apple sets a limit on the maximum number of devices customers are allowed to buy.
Vienna – The iPhone 15 is available in a total of four versions. In addition to the regular iPhone 15, there is also the iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max. And as has become almost a tradition, the rush and queues in front of the various Apple Stores around the world were huge. According to a report by the news magazine Forbes, the enthusiastic Apple fans even made the manufacturer's website unavailable for a while due to the mass of pre-orders. At the Apple Store in Vienna's city center, many people also waited for hours to secure one of the new models.

Big rush to Apple Store in Vienna – some want 20 iPhone 15
In some cases, even several. To do this, they camped for hours in front of the Apple Store on Kärntener Straße before the store opened. According to heute.at, some of the buyers wanted up to 20 iPhones. And that's despite the fact that even the cheapest iPhone 15 model costs a whopping 949 euros. That would be 18,980 euros. A considerable sum.
Some of the buyers who want to buy several of the smartphones at the same time are probably just people who get devices for friends or family at the same time. However, especially with such high purchase quantities, they can also be resellers.
Already, the premium model - the iPhone 15 Pro Max - is as good as sold out. If you can secure a model in the store, you have a good chance of getting rid of it quickly - even at a higher price. Resellers take advantage of this fact to get money.
Vienna Apple Store sets purchase limit of two iPhones per buyer
Nothing came of it, at least for those waiting in Vienna. According to heute.at's report, you could buy a maximum of two Phone 15s there. At the request of HNA.de of IPPEN. MEDIA confirmed to Apple that only two iPhone 15s can be purchased per transaction. In this way, they want to avoid bots buying the new models in large quantities. However, the maximum delivery quantity also applies in the company's physical stores.
