While delivering an order, an Amazon parcel carrier was bitten by a snake and had to be taken to the hospital.
Munich – The fear of snakes is widespread, but in most cases unfounded in this country. The situation in the US state of Florida, on the other hand, is different. A parcel carrier from Amazon had to experience this firsthand.

Blow bites parcel carrier in the leg: woman comes immediately to the hospital
A post from the Martin County Sheriff's Office is going viral on Facebook and has since been shared thousands of times. You can see a large queue in front of a front door. She allegedly attacked a postwoman who is now in critical condition in hospital. The post reads, among other things: "A driver delivering a package to a Palm City home on Monday night was bitten by an Eastern Diamond Rattlesnake that had curled up near the front door of the delivery location."
According to the sheriff's office, the incident occurred when the woman wanted to bring the package to the door. There she was bitten by the snake in the back of the leg, just above her knee. The bite was immediately noticeable in the woman, she dialed the emergency number directly and was needed in a hospital. Snake bites can be very dangerous, one cook was even bitten by the severed head of a snake.

The snake is apparently a diamond rattlesnake. This species is common in Florida and, according to the portal tierwissen.net, is one of the most venomous snakes on the continent. Among other things, their poison attacks the red blood cells and can lead to death if left untreated. In the U.S. alone, about ten people die every year. In addition, it is also one of the largest species with a length of around 2.5 meters. In Florida there is a real snake problem, recently even an alligator was found in a python.
Under the Facebook post, mainly recovery wishes are collected, but according to the Sheriff's Office, the condition of the parcel carrier is currently critical. Let's hope that the woman will be well again soon.
