For the topping:

  • 75 g soft butter
  • 120 g of sugar
  • 250 g walnuts
  • 100 g of chocolate

In addition, you will need a little butter or margarine to grease the baking sheet with raised edges.

Preparation: Step by step to the delicious "eat yourself stupid" sheet cake

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius top/bottom heat (convection oven 160 degrees Celsius) and grease the baking tray with butter or margarine.
  • For the cake batter, beat the sugar with the butter and egg until fluffy and then add the vanilla sugar, flour, baking powder and salt and knead the ingredients into an even shortcrust pastry. Spread the dough on the baking sheet, pierce it several times with a fork and bake on the middle shelf for a quarter of an hour in a preheated oven. Then take it out and let it cool.
  • For the cake filling, boil the milk with the sugar, vanilla sugar and salt and add the custard powder. Stir vigorously so that no lumps form. Then remove the custard filling from the heat and let it cool. By stirring again and again, you prevent a pudding skin from forming. Add the coconut oil and butter to the cold pudding and mix the mixture to form a creamy cake filling. Spread the cream on the cake base.
  • For the topping, melt the butter and sugar in a pan over medium heat. Also, chop the walnuts into small pieces and add them to the pan as well. Before the nut caramel is too hard, spread it evenly over the pie filling. The chocolate must also be melted, for example in the microwave or in a water bath. Garnish the "eat yourself stupid" sheet cake with the melted chocolate, let it harden and enjoy the dessert.
