In northern Kosovo, one policeman was killed and two others were injured in a night firefight with gunmen. As police director Gazmend Hoxha reported, the serious incident took place in the village of Banjska, not far from Leposavic, one of the four largest municipalities in the north with a Serb majority. Kosovar Prime Minister Albin Kurti strongly condemned the armed attack on policemen, which he said was carried out by "masked and heavily armed crime professionals".
"We condemn this criminal and terrorist attack," he wrote on Facebook. "Organized crime, with the political, financial and logistical support of Belgrade's official officials, attacks our country," Kurti added.
