Even during parental leave, you can earn some extra money with a mini-job. But what working hours are possible and is the earnings credited to the parental allowance?
With a mini-job, the household budget can be improved. However, so that you do not have to worry about deductions, a certain hourly rate per month must not be exceeded.
It is also possible to have a mini-job during parental leave. Be it with the previous company or with a new employer, as the mini-job center informs in its blog. "Several mini-jobs may also be carried out at the same time, as long as they do not exceed the earnings limit of 520 euros," it says. It is important that the consent of the previous employer is always obtained for all mini-jobs.

When will parental allowance be reduced?
What does a mini-job mean with regard to parental allowance? "The earnings from the mini-job will not be counted towards the minimum amount of parental allowance of 300 euros (or 150 euros parental allowance plus)," informs the mini-job center. Only if the parental allowance amounts to more than 300 euros (or 150 euros parental allowance plus), the earnings from the mini-job will be credited and the parental allowance will be reduced.
