A producer has to recall olives from Greece because they are contaminated with a pathogen. The olives were also offered at the service counter.
Munich – Whether simply as a snack or in a salad – olives can be used in many ways in cooking and are considered particularly healthy due to their unsaturated fatty acids. However, if you want to do something good for yourself, you should currently refrain from using a manufacturer's olives, because they are being recalled. Especially for risk groups, there is a health risk from consumption.

Recall due to listeria in olives: pathogen can cause serious gastrointestinal diseases
The reason for the olive recall is that listeria was found during an inspection. The manufacturer itself writes that the pathogen can cause severe gastrointestinal diseases and flu-like symptoms. Especially for risk groups such as the elderly, children, pregnant women and people with pre-existing conditions, the consumption of olives poses a health risk.
How exactly affected customers should proceed now is not clear from the report. The manufacturer asks for your understanding and apologies. As a rule, products affected by the recall can be returned to the respective point of sale, but often no proof is required.
In addition to olives, the oil made from them is also very popular, but Ökotest made a devastating verdict for olive oils from numerous suppliers. Due to poor harvests, olive oil could soon even become a luxury good, and prices are already skyrocketing. (Kiba)
