"It's not contagious!" TV host Nathalie Simon returned Tuesday to her life with vitiligo, a disease she has suffered from since the birth of her daughter in 1998.
This disease is characterized by progressive depigmentation of the skin. Not painful, it can affect one or more parts of the body. Guest of Jordan de Luxe on C8, the former windsurfing France champion explained that it was precisely her daughter Nina who allowed her to fully assume this difference: "Two years ago, when talking about my vitiligo, she told me: but mom, I don't understand why you spend your time hiding it. In fact, I think it's great."
A disease revealed in January
"In our profession, we wear makeup, we hide marks, we hide wrinkles, we hide everything," she argued, a trend that pushed her herself to hide her illness. She had spoken publicly about her illness for the first time in January to France 3 Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur: "I decided this year, while continuing to treat it, to tame, to love my vitiligo ... and above all to help people who suffer from it to regain optimism! »
She stressed that she was "lucky" that it only touched her hands. On her Instagram account, on which she regularly shares sports and health advice, the 58-year-old former windsurfer no longer hides her hands marked by depigmentation.

The host also returned to the case of Édouard Philippe, since the former Prime Minister is suffering from the same disease. For his part, he is affected by the hair and beard, which have become totally white in a few years: "The poor man, he has lost his hair, it is white. What I find very courageous is that he continues to have a political ambition. I think it's strong enough for a politician to communicate on this, "responded Nathalie Simon.
