At the Munich University of Applied Sciences, there are a number of courses of study that allow specialists and managers to continue their education alongside their jobs. They can start, for example, in the summer semester of 2024.
There is a lot going on in the world of work. Rapid change brings with it new professional challenges and ensures that continuing education as part of lifelong learning is more important than ever. If you would like to develop your career for future fields in addition to your job, you will find, for example, a wide range of qualifications for professionals in the fields of technology, business and social affairs at the Munich University of Applied Sciences. Among other things, there are also formats that can be completed in just one or two semesters alongside the job: certificate study programs. In order to clarify the financing, interested parties should first approach their employers.
Academic Continuing Education: Employers can offer financial and time support
Through university certificates, professionals can bring their own knowledge up to date quickly and in a targeted and fast manner and deepen or expand their professional skills in an interdisciplinary manner. As with other academic continuing education formats, there are various funding options for this. Experts advise to first determine the costs of further training. After that, you should clarify in good time whether the employer can promote further training. It is important that employees give good reasons for the benefits of further training for their professional activity. This increases their chances of receiving financial support from their employer.

Tips for financing certificate studies and other continuing education formats
On its website, the Munich University of Applied Sciences provides helpful tips on how to finance academic continuing education. The Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE) also offers a lot of information on this topic in its brochure "Financing part-time studies" from the series "CHE kurz + kompakt". It explains that there is no general entitlement to funding for further training by employers. In some industries, however, they would pay all or part of the tuition fees, as they will also benefit from the increase in knowledge in the future. Questions are definitely worth asking, according to the guide. Especially since companies and organizations could support not only financially, but also with time relief in the job, i.e. a leave of absence.

Continuing education courses: Developed at the cutting edge, oriented towards the requirements of the modern working world.
The extensive continuing education program offered by the Munich University of Applied Sciences ranges from seminars to bachelor's or master's degree programs and is of varying time-consuming. What the courses of study have in common is that they can all be completed alongside a full-time job, have been developed at the cutting edge and are geared to the needs of the modern working world. One advantage of the certificate programs is that they can be completed in one or two semesters and can often be credited to a later master's program. Learning takes place in attendance phases on evenings, weekends or in block courses. E-learning-supported self-study phases round off the study period.
Among the certificate offerings of the Munich University of Applied Sciences, the so-called module studies are a special feature: Individual modules of a master's program can be taken separately from it and completed with a certificate. Munich University of Applied Sciences credits graduates with the module if they later enroll in the entire Master's program.
