The Year of Italian roots in the world, an initiative of the Ministry of Tourism and ENIT to promote 'Tourism of roots' in 2024, was presented on Saturday in Buenos Aires on the occasion of the inauguration of the International Tourism Fair (Fit) which this year sees Italy as an 'invited country'.
To illustrate the project to the operators and the public of Fit was the deputy Gianluca Caramanna (Fdi), advisor of the minister Daniela Santanché, who on the occasion inaugurated the Italian pavilion of the Fit accompanied by the ambassador Fabrizio Lucentini and the director of Enit in Argentina, Veronica Morello.
"It is right and important for us to be here in the most Italian country after Italy to present the Year of Roots," said Caramanna as he cut the inaugural ribbon of the pavilion together with Argentine Tourism Minister Matias Lammens.
"It is a project that has been going on for many years and includes a campaign to promote not only the larger centers but above all the smaller ones, linked to the places of origin of migration," the MEP explained in a press point.
Caramanna then stressed that the Ministry of Tourism together with the Maeci and ENIT are preparing for this project a series of tourist packages to encourage the "relocation" of tourist flows from traditional centers.
A campaign that, revealed Caramanna, will also be carried out by the now famous Venus 'influencer' who will be entrusted with the task of "stimulating curiosity" on the new tourist spots that will join the initiative.
"For us it is important to offer all descendants ofItalians abroad the opportunity to recover the history of their fathers and grandfathers with a proposal both tourist, gastronomic, cultural and religious" added the councilor.
The Italian pavilion of Fit also counts with the presence of the regions of Basilicata and Sicily, which have long been active in promoting tourism of the roots.
