Altice International, one of the branches of Patrick Drahi's telecoms and media group, announced Monday that it had raised 800 million euros by borrowing on the markets, which allows it to extend by three months the maturity of its colossal global debt, "without major maturity before 2027".
Weakened by a corruption scandal in Portugal and the arrest of his co-founder of Altice, Armando Pereira, Patrick Drahi had not ceased to repeat in his speeches this summer that this scandal would have "no impact" on Altice's finances and forecasts, in order to reassure the markets, alarmed by the case as much as by the group's debt, estimated at nearly 60 billion euros.
