Streamer MckyTV vowed never to play Ultimate Team again because of too blatant gambling. Now he's back in the thick of EA FC 24 – and he's receiving criticism.
Update from 29.09.2023: After the criticism of MckyTV made waves, the Twitch streamer himself commented on it. You can find out exactly what he said here: MckyTV reacted disparagingly to the criticism of EA FC 24.

With the release of EA Sports FC 24, MckyTV is now back at the forefront. His Twitch colleagues are harsh on him for this.

MckyTV back in EA FC 24's Ultimate Team – had sworn off the mode
MckyTV swore off Ultimate Team over gambling: After the release of FIFA 21 in 2020, MckyTV addressed its fans and the FIFA community in a detailed statement on YouTube. At the time, he harshly criticized EA for its handling of card packs in the Ultimate Team, accusing the company of encouraging children to gamble at an early age. In the same video, the streamer made a decision: He would keep his hands off Ultimate Team in the future.
Streamer returns for the release of EA FC 24: Three years later, FIFA is no longer called FIFA, but EA FC 24. EA Sports' latest football simulation has just been released and MckyTV seems to have had a change of heart. For the early start of Early Access, the streamer showed a 24-hour stream that was mainly about the football game.

More specifically, Ultimate Team was once again the focus of the season. Over the course of several hours, Mcky opened his packs and put together his team, real football only really took place in the second half of the 24 hours. He is by no means the only one, many of the biggest streamers on Twitch are currently in Ultimate Team. US streamer iShowSpeed even got on a date via the mode in EA FC 24.

Other streamers criticize MckyTV – but MontanaBlack also understands
KuchenTV and MontanaBlack respond with criticism: Against the backdrop of Mcky's earlier words about Ultimate Team, there is now harsh criticism against the streamer from some quarters. First and foremost is the controversial opinion YouTuber KuchenTV, which sharply attacks Mcky's handling of EA FC 24. Not only would the streamer violate his own principles, he would also get paid by EA for it.
MckyTV: Past with gambling addiction
The topic of Ultimate Team was probably so close to Mcky's heart, as he himself had experience with gambling addiction. In recent years, the streamer has repeatedly pointed out the dangers of gambling and other dangers of addiction. Fans with similar problems have often sought advice from him. MckyTV has taught one of these fans a valuable lesson.
The reason for the accusation is that MckyTV on Twitch has a banner in the stream that it is an advertising stream for EA Sports. But that alone doesn't have to mean that Mcky really has a deal with EA. It could also simply indicate that he had already been given access to the game in advance for advertising purposes, but would not see any money beyond that. MontanaBlack also recently reacted to the video and gave Mcky the proverbial clown nose.
Understanding is still there: Nevertheless, MontanaBlack has also expressed his understanding of Mcky's EA FC streams. "Are you people out there who say so today and like that tomorrow? (...) That's all the way we are, that's human." The difference with people like Mcky and Monte is that they are public figures and opinions are weighed on the gold scale.
If it were up to MontanaBlack, Mcky wouldn't be blamed if he played EA FC 24 again after three years and opened packs. But then he would have to put up with the "clown nose" a little, where he spoke so critically about FIFA and Ultimate Team at the time.
