As part of the wave of cancellations in the cultural world in light of the war that broke out yesterday (Saturday), another cancellation of a show arrives today, and this time it is Ariel Zilber's performance, which has already caused a lot of noise in recent weeks.
In a post on his Facebook page, Zilber wrote: "On 25.10.23 there was a planned performance of mine at the Heichal HaTarbut. My 80th birthday etc. The show was not cancelled despite the cancellations and refund of tickets, we would have held the show anyway. Thank you to all ticket purchasers who purchased and are still purchasing and we would probably fill the hall, your money will be safely refunded. But in light of everything that is happening, we are in sorrow, sorrow, great sorrow! And the entire nation of Israel mourns deeply for the wounded and murdered and with great concern for the abductees, and what is clear is that we are in a crisis.
"In light of the above, it is not right to celebrate in the coming days, so I will celebrate and hold the show on happier days that are sure to come upon us. We must remember that everything is from G-d, and after such a severe blow, we must look into our actions. Praying for the wounded and abducted and for the security forces to all return home safely. Hope for better and happier days in love. From me - Ariel Zilber and the production. And all of Israel are friends."
A public outcry erupted around Zilber after Shalom Hanoch, Aviv Geffen and Arkady Duchin canceled their participation in his festive show - due to his support for Amiram Ben Uliel, who was convicted of murdering the Dawabsheh family. Later, two members of Zilber's regular band, Avner Kalmar and Shlomi Mansour, also announced that they would stop performing with him.
