She lived for 26 years. The "Magazine de la santé", flagship program of the channel France 5 hosted by Marina Carrère d'Encausse, will stop next June after 26 years of programming. It will be replaced by a "new concept", we learned this Friday from France Télévisions.

The public group is working on another programme on "well-being, without neglecting health". "Marina Carrère d'Encausse remains an emblematic face of France Télévisions and reflects with the editorial teams" as a result, it was said. For example, the doctor and journalist could devote herself to documentaries, such as recently with "End of Life: So You Have the Choice," which was broadcast in the evening.

The "Magazine de la santé" was launched in January 1998 with Michel Cymes, another star doctor on the small screen, joined in October 1999 by Marina Carrère d'Encausse. The former left the set in 2018.

The format, originally 7 minutes, had been lengthened over time. The current 52-minute show, co-hosted by Dr. Jimmy Mohamed and journalist Rym Ben Ameur with guests and reports, is broadcast Monday to Friday at 13:40 p.m.

"Well-being is in tune with the times"

After peaks of one million viewers during the Covid crisis, it is followed by 450,000 people on average, according to its production company 17 Juin Media, a specialist in health issues that belongs to Newen France (TF1 group).

"It is quite normal that there is a profound renewal after 25 years, and well-being is in the air of the times," Benoît Thévenet, deputy general manager of Newen France, involved from the beginning, told AFP. Like other production companies, 17 Juin Media will propose a new formula to France Télévisions.

"We have supported the fact that patients have become actors in their own health. The next step is for them to become actors in their own prevention, to age in good health," he explains.
