"We have excellent results in terms of ratings, which are not a novelty of the last season and of the year, but start from a job in which we really changed gear between 2020 and 2021": said Pier Silvio Berlusconi, CEO of the Mediaset group, meeting the press three months before the start of the season.
"I am proud of the work done by Mediaset because 2020 was a year in which all broadcasters were afraid and we were able to react with a change of pace, raising the level of offer in terms of quality and quantity," the CEO continued.
But "how hard it is," Berlusconi stressed, "as an Italian publisher we are about to close one of the most complicated years in history. Last week we approved the budget for the first 9 months, which is objectively excellent, but it was tough, today the battlefield of the competition for publishers is really complicated".
Berlusconi also spoke about the 'case' of the off-airs on Striscia la notizia: "I first suffered and then smiled on the behind-the-scenes linked to the off-airs of Stripe: Ricci is Ricci, like it or not, I don't think that relations with the government can change because of the affair linked to Striscia ".
