"I've never experienced anything like this," says TikToker Zed Webster to the camera, still shaking from what he's just experienced. This passenger on a Southwest Airlines flight to Baltimore has the scare of his life on Sunday, November 26. As the plane was about to take off, a 38-year-old man opened the emergency exit amid a din of panicked passengers. He jumped on the wing of the Boeing 737 MAX and ran across the tarmac, before attempting to flee in a service truck parked nearby. To no avail: airport employees stopped him in his tracks and tackled him to the ground before he turned on the ignition.

The 38-year-old troublemaker was taken to hospital for a psychological evaluation. "He was speaking incoherently and was not fully aware of his surroundings. He is believed to have suffered from a mental health issue. There is no indication that he left anything on the plane, and he was not in possession of a weapon," the Jefferson Parrish Sheriff's Office said. No criminal charges have been brought against him.
