These are the ingredients you need for a Brussels sprouts and potato casserole:

  • 70 g onion
  • 800 g potatoes
  • 200 g crème fraîche
  • 200 ml whipped cream
  • 1 tsp ground pepper
  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg, grated
  • 350 g Brussels sprouts, washed into whole florets
  • 150 g bacon, diced
  • 200 g cheese, grated
  • 8 g chives, finely chopped

The preparation is very simple and quick:

  • Preheat the oven to 200 °C top/bottom heat.
  • Peel and finely dice the onions. Wash and peel the potatoes and cut them into thin slices. Set aside.
  • Combine crème fraîche, whipped cream, pepper, garlic, salt, and nutmeg in a small bowl.
  • Alternately layer the previously cut potatoes, Brussels sprouts, onions and bacon in a baking dish, pour the sauce over it and sprinkle with cheese.
  • Bake the casserole in a preheated oven for 40 minutes until a golden brown crust is formed.
  • Garnish with chives and serve. Enjoy!
