According to TMZ, David Lynch and his girlfriend Emily Stofle are on the verge of ending their marriage. Indeed, the 46-year-old actress has filed for divorce from the 77-year-old filmmaker and director of Twin Peaks. The couple spent fourteen years together and had one child, their 11-year-old daughter Lula Boginia Lynch (born in 2012). The actress met the director on the set of the film Inland Empire in 2006. She will also appear on screen in Twin Peaks: The Return, released in 2017. When their daughter was born in 2012, David Lynch was 66 years old. Lula Boginia Lynch is her fourth child. He also shares daughter Jennifer, 55, with his first wife Peggy. His son Austin, 41, with his second wife Mary, and Riley, 31 - a musician - with his third wife Mary Sweeney.

'Not always a good husband'

While the causes of the divorce have not been revealed, David Lynch said in an interview with the Guardian in 2018 that he has a tendency to prioritise his work, preventing him from being "always the best husband and father" to his family. "You have to be selfish. And that's a terrible thing. I never really wanted to get married, or have children. One thing leads to another and that's it," he said.
