Attempted robbery this morning around 6.30 a.m. on the Milan-Turin motorway of a cash van heading towards Turin. The vehicle suffered an attempted blockade near the bridge over the Ticino, on the border between Lombardy and Piedmont, in the territory of the province of Novara. The attempt would have been made through a heavy vehicle placed to block the lanes. The driver of the van, according to initial information, managed to avoid the blockade with quick reflexes, managing to escape and raise the alarm. Traffic police and mobile police on site. Long queues on the motorway, as both carriageways were involved.
The truck involved in the attempt to block the cash carrier is still stationary at the scene and investigators are working to understand how many people were ready for the hit on the highway. Meanwhile, the A4 is still partially blocked in both directions in the section affected by the attempted robbery, with queues.
The robbers are on the run
The criminals who tried to block a cash van with a truck sideways on the A4, in the Novara area, are on the run. The traffic police are looking for them in Piedmont and Lombardy. The episode, as far as we know, does not appear to have caused injuries, neither with regard to the cash van and the heavy vehicle used to attempt the robbery, but not even among passing motorists.
