It was a Saturday almost like any other for the celebrities of the City of Angels. On December 1, under an almost wintry sun, on the edge of an avenue lined with palm trees and the famous "Hollywood" sign in the background, they met to attend Balenciaga's Fall 2024 show, inspired by the daily life of the inhabitants of Los Angeles. A sportswoman in leggings, probably on her way to a yoga class, a young man in his pajamas who seemed to have just returned from a hectic evening, and a businesswoman in a tweed suit - coffee in hand, of course. With this show, the designer Demna reinvented the Californian city from all angles and all its clichés, but also the daily life of the city, in front of a front row complicit in the parody that was played out in front of him.
Kim Kardashian, for example, arrived with a paper bag from a Balenciaga x Erewhun collaboration, known as the supermarket of the rich, where a carton of milk costs twenty dollars (about eighteen euros). A store that is not unknown to the other guests of the show, such as Brooklyn Beckham, his wife Nicole Peltz-Beckham or Kendall Jenner, who have been spotted there several times this year. Alongside them, other personalities were present.

In terms of looks, black monochrome was in the majority: Eva Longoria, Ashley Graham, Elsa Hosk, Dylan Minnette, Stella Maxwell and almost all the guests opted for the color of charcoal. Some celebrities came alone, others with their families: like Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, of course, but also Lisa Rinna, who came with her two daughters, Amelia and Delilah. Nicole Kidman was accompanied by Balenciaga's chief executive, Cédric Charbit, for a very special reason.

The actress has just been chosen to represent Balenciaga. She joins Isabelle Huppert and Michelle Yeoh, who are also ambassadors of the French label. An announcement that crowns a long-standing collaboration, as evidenced by the press release released by the Australian: "Balenciaga has accompanied me through some of the most memorable events of my life, from my wedding to the red carpet at the Oscars." And since Isabelle Huppert walked the runway for Balenciaga last July, we may well see Nicole Kidman on one of the next catwalks soon.
