"Celebrating French innovation"
"Versailles 400 is a hybrid concert-show creation broadcast live from one of the most beautiful places in the world as well as in virtual reality in the metaverse, which, I hope, will contribute to promoting our know-how and bringing the world of French immersive creation a little more into the collective culture," the French artist said in a statement published on the historic monument's website.
For Jean-Michel Jarre, it is a way to "celebrate today's French innovation in this place that was at the origin of an incredible artistic revolution, to pay tribute to the great royal celebrations that have marked history and made the Palace of Versailles a UNESCO World Heritage Site world-renowned".
Wearing the French mixed reality headset LYNX, Jean-Michel Jarre will give "this concert-show simultaneously in front of a real audience in the Hall of Mirrors, and in the metaverse, thanks to his avatar, in the center of a futuristic Hall of Mirrors with an audience connected in virtual reality," the press release said. Tickets are on sale on the Palace of Versailles website. The concert will also be broadcast on the television channels of the M6 group.
