Not only those of Dior, YSL Beauty, Sephora Collection, Charlotte Tibury, Kiko and Kiehl among the most popular Advent 2023 calendars on TikTok tutorials around the world. Although beauty calendars are the most famous, this is the year of Christmas calendars with boxes and countdown windows that contain surprises of all kinds, original and combined for every hobby, passion, coveted and tailored to every pocket. From the Swarovski one, a limited edition for Disney's 100th anniversary, which contains 24 Christmas-themed pendants and costs 1,200 euros to the cheapest calendars for children and adults.
The food trend is also growing, in a gourmet key: they range from the 2023 edition of the Enrico Rizzi Milano pastry shop with 24 numbered bags containing pralines, dragées, chocolate, gianduiotti and candies (at a cost of over 200 euros) to the giandujotti, cremini, milk and dark napolitains contained in the Domori calendar in Turin to that of the Belgian chocolatier Pierre Marcolini, inspired by the scent of the woods (and already sold out on the chocolate shop's website). This is followed by calendars dedicated to tea and coffee. For example, the calendar containing 24 filters with an assortment of 18 different flavors of tea and herbal teas is from the Regina di Fiori brand, and the Mlesna Tea (Sri Lanka) brand is entirely dedicated to tea lovers (both on sale on QVC).
There is no shortage of proposals for high-end wine lovers such as the Laithwaites wine advent calendar which contains a mix of champagne and red and white wines in the size of a glass (187 ml) for each day before Christmas to the one containing 24 ready-to-drink 100 ml cocktails (NIO Cocktails). The '12 Days of Gourmet Nuts Winter Wonderland Selection' by Damn-Man, specialized in snacks, is dedicated to ski lovers - as indicated by the ranking of the calendars of the moment by the American economic magazine Forbes. It contains gourmet walnuts and hazelnuts, to be opened in the 12 days before Christmas spent in the mountains to have a boost of energy after a day on the slopes.
On the other hand, the Edwardian-style calendar of the Belle Epoque dusts off traditions but in a hi-tech key (you download the App from any device and fill it out every day from your phone or tablet). It is signed by the Californian Jacquie Lawson, an illustrator at St. Martin's School of Art who became famous all over the world for her electronic animated greeting cards. It contains activities such as a scavenger hunt, daily gifts, animated stories, music, books, games, creative activities, and puzzles. Set in a fictional country estate, it embodies the typical English atmosphere during the winter holidays of the time.
New calendars dedicated to adults designed in luxury hotels, as is the case this year for guests of the Auberge de La Maison in Courmayeur where daily 'windows' full of exclusive experiences are ready (a different initiative every day) and the 2023 Advent calendar of the star among the most loved by teenagers is among the best-sellers of the online sales platform Etsy, Taylor Swift, containing bracelets to be made, pendants and accessories similar to those she wears on tours and which portray her.
Advent calendars for the little ones
They are dedicated to the little ones and are trending among the best sellers these days the Advent calendars of Flying Tiger Copenhagen (from the simple version with chocolate for 2 euros to the richest with boxes to be filled as desired for 5 euros) and the Australian one (in English) 'Scandi - Sharing Kindness' is still designed for the little ones, already sold out on online sales sites. Focused on the power of kindness, it doesn't contain toys or chocolates (so it's also designed for lactose-intolerant children, the slogan goes) but every day you discover stickers, messages and images to share with the family. A modern version of the old and simple Advent calendar of the past, made of cardboard to hang on the wall, equipped with simple windows and surprise religious motifs that were enough for children to raise the excitement of waiting for Christmas that was getting closer and closer with this simple daily countdown. Now children and adults expect many more surprises day by day and in fact contains 15 pairs of women's socks the Advent calendar dedicated to the characters Peanuts and is really original and handmade the one dedicated to movie fans, the 'Movie Marathon Advent – Countdown to Christmas' containing 24 information cards dedicated to the most famous films about Christmas (in English). Manufactured by the English company TwistStationery, it is sold on the online sales channel Etsy, which gives space to small companies and handmade products. The new beauty calendars for advent
On the beauty side, among the novelties are the calendars dedicated to nail art such as that of Néonail (in the 12 or 24 day version) with everything you need for a manicure and pedicure with semi-permanent nail polishes. More nail care in a chic key for '12 Days of Nails - Advent Calendar' by Le Mini Macaron, a brand based in Barcelona, contains gel polishes and all manicure accessories (on sale online and at La Rinascente in Milan and Rome). Fans of organic cosmetics, on the other hand, are spoilt for choice between organic beauty calendars such as the new calendar of the French maison specialized in organic and natural products Aroma-Zone, with drawers containing products for the face, hair, body and home, or the calendar of the Yves Rocher French, full of products for the face, hair, and makeup for the New Year's look.
