"World Human Rights Day is an important opportunity to reaffirm with determination the common commitment to recognize and guarantee inviolable human rights, as widely recognized by Article 2 of our Constitution. Continuing on the path of raising awareness is the most effective way we have, also and above all in the future, to build an increasingly fair society capable of protecting every single individual". This was stated by the President of the Senate Ignazio La Russa in a message on World Human Rights Day.
"For this reason, Italy, as every year, adheres with comfort and conviction to today's celebration promoted by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. It is a commitment that today takes on an even deeper meaning, given the particularly delicate historical period, characterized by a fragile international context, which sees the selfishness of power prevail in some realities precisely to the detriment of those rights that should be the inviolable heritage of humanity".
