A 2-year-old boy fell onto the Roca train tracks while trying to play the formation when he was walking with a woman on the platform of the Burzaco station. In an instant, the boy let go of his hand and wanted to touch the railroad. From that moment on, a desperate sequence ensued.
The accident was recorded on the surveillance cameras of Tren Argentinos, the state-owned company that makes the railway branches. It took place at 19:58 p.m. on Saturday, but it transpired on Monday. When the child suddenly separates from the caregiver and runs to one of the carriages to touch him, an emergency protocol is activated from the security checkpoint to stop the train.
Dressed in orange, the boy manages to brush against the lower edge of one of the windows of one of the last carriages, when he suddenly falls through the gap that separates the formation from the platform on which those who enter and leave every now and then walk to use the service.
The woman who accompanied him, whose relationship with the child was not disclosed, arrives thousandths of a second after the fall and stretches out her hand to try to save him. He gives a first signal for help and it is a young man in a white T-shirt who is the first to react.
A woman and another man who were walking on the platform with the first passenger who noticed the accident approach, while in the video released the official alert from the station to the command center is heard.
"Burzaco for command with priority. Platform 1 asmaller one falls onto the tracks between the platform and the formation," says the operator, clearly urged by the images.
"Oka. We're headed," is the reply.
The four people who know what happened appear to be desperately asking for help, as more passengers come to try to help.
Some of them scream for help and notify the company's staff that an accident has occurred. The platform is busy.
The next image is dramatic: it shows how the train barely moves forward and the woman who was with the child is desperate for it to stop. The reaction of the people who already populate the platform is moving. At the same time, the requested help personnel arrive at the scene in the first audio shown in the video.
The formation interrupts its progress and it is heard: "We have already requested the ambulance through CATE-911".

Then, the doors of the train are seen opening and a crowd comes out of the formation trying to understand what is happening. Barely a minute passed since the 2-year-old boy fell into the gap that separates the train from the platform. It's 19:59 p.m. There are passengers who manage to rest their hands on the Roca to stop it.
The clock at the station is no longer complete, but it seems to indicate that the 20th hour of Saturday has arrived and the woman appears with the child on her back, surrounded by police, passengers and train staff who make sure that the child is safe and sound.
The woman seems to check him from head to toe.
"SAME on the spot. They are taken to the hospital," is the next audio in the video, as two men in yellow vests enter the scene. With fewer people around, the woman and child are sitting on a stool on the platform talking to them, a policewoman and a gendarme.
The video concludes by showing the exit of the station and the woman with the baby is seen again on her back after having crossed the turnstiles where the passengers give an account of the beginning and end of the trip.
They are surrounded by the same security force officers.
According to official information, the little boy is "out of danger".
"Out of danger, with trauma from the blow, he was transferred to the Lucio Menéndez hospital for observation," the report said.
