Three US soldiers were killed in a drone attack in Jordan: CNN reports.
It is the first time that there have been casualties among US forces in the Middle East since the start of the war in Gaza.
According to the channel, which cites US officials, at least two dozen American soldiers were injured in the attack.
"The three American soldiers we lost were patriots in the highest sense and their ultimate sacrifice will not be forgotten by our nation", commented President Joe Biden, promising that "we will continue their commitment in the fight against terrorism".
"And have no doubts: we will hold all those responsible to account at the time and in the way we choose", he added.
