Coming to participate in the inauguration of a “Place Samuel Paty” in Cannes (Alpes-Maritimes), she returned to the project to double the hours of moral and civic education (EMC) classes, recently announced by President Emmanuel Macron.

In a very incisive speech, she castigated “a humanism that has become sick” and the “magic shortcuts preventing any criticism (with regard to young people who place themselves behind the Republic) in the name of a debt received as an inheritance”.

The city of Cannes inaugurated a “Place Samuel Paty” in front of a high school, with a plaque created by the artist Olivia Paroldi combining a portrait of the murdered professor, piles of books and young people bearing the letters of the word “Liberty”.
According to Jean-Pierre Sakoun, president of the Unité laïque association, who in June called on each municipality to dedicate a public place (street, square, etc.) to Samuel Paty, there are now around sixty across France.
