It is a well-known fact that it is recommended to walk at least 10,000 steps every day to maintain our health, but let's face it - this is not a task in the modern world in which we live.
Luckily, new research has found two methods that have similar positive health effects on our health, without us having to spend as much time walking.
According to the study, carried out among 450 thousand people and published in the medical journal Atherosclerosis, it was found that climbing five flights of stairs every day, about 50 steps each, reduced the chance of getting cardiovascular diseases by 20%.
The same benefits were found even if you walk the same amount of steps, about 250 in total, throughout the day, and not necessarily all at once.

Another study, published in the British journal Sports Medicine, also came to a similar conclusion, according to which such activity can also be good for the body.
The study found that light sports activity of 20-25 minutes - for example, jogging, brisk walking and cycling - can help people live longer.
On the other hand, among those who did not perform at least these 20-25 minutes for light physical activity, there was a 40% increase in the risk of mortality.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the United States recommend that adults do at least 150 minutes of light physical activity every week, which can be divided into 30 minutes a day for five days, which, as mentioned, can not be done continuously - but spread out over the course of the day.
