"Giorgia Meloni today has just overturned two hundred years of European history: the resources of the African peoples must remain in Africa and only those in excess can be supplied to Europe thanks to equal and non-predatory cooperation. It is a revolution never seen before".
This was stated by the undersecretary of the presidency Giovanbattista Fazzolari when asked about the Italy-Africa summit underway in the Senate.
"The presence of the African heads of state and government hosted in the Senate of the Italian Republic has an extraordinary symbolic force. Italy is once again a protagonist in the international context and is playing its natural role as a bridge between Europe and Africa in the Mediterranean. We are very proud of this initiative and of the "exceptional work carried out by our Prime Minister. Without her this appointment would have been impossible. The recognition of the President of the African Union Azali Assoumani who declared that he placed great hope in the "enlightened leadership" of Giorgia Meloni was sensational".
"It is only sad - he concludes - to note that no Italian government before ours, especially those led by the left, thought it necessary to start a process of privileged dialogue with the African continent. It is now up to us to make up for this delay".
