Shouting "Morselli and Mittal away from Taranto", workers, unions and entrepreneurs are marching around the perimeter of the former Ilva plant in Taranto to ask the government to oust the multinational from the Acciaierie d'Italia corporate structure and take control of the plant.
ArcelorMittal holds 62% of the shares, while Invitalia is in the minority with 38%.
There is no agreement among the shareholders on the recapitalization and purchase of the assets and the use of extraordinary administration is becoming increasingly likely.
The mobilization is organized by the metalworking groups, who denounce the progressive shutdown of the plants.
The demonstrators ask "Meloni to chase away the Franco-Indians. The CEO Lucia Morselli - they claim - is bringing the plant to closure. ArcelorMittal is asked to leave immediately".
The procession winds around the factory led by workers and unions who display flags and banners, chanting slogans against the multinational and launching appeals to the government.
Following is the column of trucks from hauliers who, like other related companies, are asking for compensation for overdue invoices, fearing they will lose their credits with the placing of Acciaierie d'Italia into extraordinary administration.
