A large professional training center on renewable energy in Morocco, projects on education in Tunisia, others for accessibility to healthcare in the Ivory Coast: these are "some of the pilot projects" of the Mattei Plan announced by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, in his speech at the Italy-Africa summit underway in the Senate chamber.

"Sharing is one of the key principles of the Mattei Plan, the work of this summit will be crucial to enrich the path", explained Meloni, indicating projects also in Algeria, Mozambique, Egypt, the Republic of Congo, Ethiopia and Kenya.

Metsola: "The Mattei plan is good, if Africa prospers the EU prospers" 

"When Africa prospers, Europe prospers and the world prospers. And Enrico Mattei was the first to understand that there is more strength in nations that collaborate, rather than when they work against each other."

The President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola said this at the Italy-Africa summit, in reference to the Mattei plan promoted by Italy for Africa.

In her speech, Metsola made a point of thanking Meloni and Tajani for a "real, long overdue change of mentality" in relations with Africa.
