The United Kingdom and the United States have announced new sanctions against Iran to address the internal threat posed by the Tehran regime.
This is what we read in a Foreign Office statement according to which "senior Iranian officials and members of organized criminal gangs who collaborate with the regime" involved in repression and coercion activities against journalists and human rights defenders are being targeted.
"The UK and the US have sent a clear message: we will not tolerate this threat," said British Foreign Secretary David Cameron.
