Some coins are worth significantly more than the number minted.
But in order to recognize valuable pieces of money, you have to look closely: these 20 cent pieces are particularly interesting for collectors.
20 cents are not always just worth 20 cents!
Because certain pieces of money can have a really high value, especially among collectors.
For example, there are particularly valuable 2 euro coins, some of which are even traded for over 100,000 euros.
Some 1 euro coins can also fetch thousands of euros - as can certain 50 cent coins.
The same applies to 20 cent coins: Some coins are very rare due to incorrect minting.

20 cent coins with incorrect minting can be particularly valuable
“Misstriking refers to all coins that have defects in the material or the coin design due to manufacturing errors,” explains the coin trading company “MDM”.
“However, due to the quality controls during minting, only a few incorrect mintings end up in circulation.”
So anyone who finds a coin with an incorrect mint in their wallet is holding a real rarity in their hands.
The possible misminting of coins is diverse.
As with 50 cent pieces, the following misminting can be discovered on 20 cent coins:
Double stamping: The coin was stamped twice, resulting in two coinages on one coin.
Double reduction: Individual parts of a coin image can be seen twice.
Decentering: The stamp did not hit the blank in the middle - the coin image is embossed offset.
Stamp rotations: When rotating around the longitudinal axis, the coin image is not straight, but rather slightly slanted.
Over-stamping: Coins that have already been minted have the new embossing of a different coin design.

But be careful: it could also be natural abrasion.

Rare 20 cent coins: A special misminting brings in 825 times as much
Even though 20 cent coins can fetch many times more than their actual value, they are not quite as valuable as one and two euro coins that are incorrectly minted.
As “derwesten.de” writes, there is, for example, a 20 cent coin from 2002 from Italy that was accidentally produced without the characteristic ripples on the edge.
The collector's price for the coin is around 38 euros - so the 20 cent piece is 190 times its actual value.
Even more valuable is a 20 cent coin from Germany (year 2002), which was mistakenly minted on a 10 cent blank - and is therefore too small.
According to a coin expert, the price is around 165, as “derwesten.de” writes.
This means that the collector's price is 825 times the actual value!
