A 14-year-old teenager
drowned in a pool at a union campsite
in Florencio Varela.
Once the death of the minor was confirmed, police sources reported that a case was opened for "investigation of the causes of death."
The event occurred at the
Tanner Workers Union
campsite , located between streets 1636 and 1161, in the town of La Capilla, in the southern area of the Conurbano.
As it was learned, the teenager appeared unconscious at the bottom of the pool, according to
Diario del Sur
.
He was found by other young people and those responsible for the place made a call to 911 that alerted the police.
But, when the agents from the 5th Police Station arrived at the campsite, they found the teenager with
few vital signs
and with a nurse and bath attendants attempting cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
After the failed CPR attempt,
Alexis Ligregni
was rushed to the Mi Pueblo hospital, where he died minutes later.
Now, the Police are seeking to determine if it was an accident or if there was negligence on the part of those in charge of the union campsite.
One of the hypotheses of the investigative sources is that Ligregni was intoxicated, although the results of the autopsy are awaited to provide greater certainty.
According to testimonies collected by the local media, several of the people who were at the site complained about "the lack of experience of the hired lifeguards" and about "the neglect and dirt that the campsite presents."
The 14-year-old boy was from the area: he lived on Río Iguazú Street at 1800, in Florencio Varela.
