Cake with just four ingredients?
You can do it with what is probably the easiest apple pie recipe in the world.
Do you regularly take a large tin of shortbread cookies with you when you go shopping so you don't have to spend a long time in the kitchen baking cakes?
Then one of the more simple and quickly baked cakes and sweet pastries is just right for you.
Four simple ingredients are quickly mixed together, poured into a greased baking pan and baked.
Baking with apples – Grandma’s tried-and-tested classics and modern delicacies
Grandma already knew that sweet and sour apples combined with sour cream or buttery crumbles can be wonderfully transformed into delicious cakes and sweet Danish pastries.
And even today, a piece of grandma's juicy apple and sour cream cake with almonds and cinnamon is still well received.
With just four simple ingredients you can bake what is probably the simplest apple pie there is.

However, modern variations of the classic apple cake are no less popular, such as the Christmas speculoos apple cake on dreary winter days.
Less experienced bakers in particular can be impressed by the preparation of this versatile fruit in the form of a time-saving apple tart with buttery puff pastry or as quick puff pastry apple rings.

For a regular loaf tin (25 x 11 cm) you need:
180 g unsweetened applesauce
165g wheat flour
415 ml sweetened condensed milk (full fat)
2 teaspoons of baking soda

The juicy apple cake is baked so quickly and easily
While the oven is preheating to 180 degrees top and bottom heat, the loaf pan can be greased with a little butter or tasteless oil or alternatively lined with baking paper.
Sift the flour into a large mixing bowl and then mix in the two teaspoons of baking powder.
In another bowl, mix the condensed milk with the applesauce and then add it to the dry ingredients.
Mix everything together to form a smooth, lump-free cake batter.
Pour the dough into your prepared baking pan and place it on the middle shelf in the preheated oven for about 30 to 35 minutes.
Allow the cake to bake until golden in the specified baking time and then carry out the chopstick test.
Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool completely before serving, optionally dusted with a little icing sugar.
Alternatively, it can of course also be enjoyed warm from the oven.

Served warm from the oven, the brilliantly simple apple cake also tastes particularly good with a dollop of fresh whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
