Hamas received the proposal from the mediators in Paris and confirmed that it will study it and provide its response "on the basis that the priority is to stop the aggression, the brutal attack on Gaza and the complete withdrawal of the occupation forces from the Strip".
This is the comment by Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh published on Telegram who nevertheless said he was available to "discuss any serious and practical initiative or idea, provided it leads to a complete cessation of the aggression".
"Therefore - continued Hanyeh - the movement is open to discussing any serious and practical initiative or idea, on the condition that it leads to a complete cessation of the aggression and guarantees the reception process for our people, for the people who have been forced to be displaced by the measures of the occupation, for those whose homes have been destroyed, as well as their reconstruction, the lifting of the siege and the implementation of a serious prisoner exchange process that guarantees the freedom of our heroic prisoners and puts an end to their suffering."
Hanyeh then explained that "the movement's leadership received an invitation to go to Cairo to discuss the draft agreement that emerged from the Paris meeting and the requirements for its implementation" based on "a vision that realizes the national interests of our peoples in the near future ".
